For video conferencing, the users can use any platform of their choice, such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Jitsi, Skype, WhatsApp, etc.
For those who do not want to use a paid platform, and need a service without time limitations, we recommend the use of Jitsi, a free service that allows you to have a meeting by means of a web browser without any prior installation of any software, or by means of a free app for mobile devices that you can download from the official Jitsi website.
In order to join a Jitsi meeting, you must be registered with Jitsi, and log in.
As soon as two or more persons have agreed to have a meeting, one of them should create a Jitsi link in the form https://meet.jit.si/xxxxxx where xxxxxx should be replaced by a random text string, at least ten characters long, such that it is practically impossibile that someone outside the group could use exactly the same one.
Examples of valid links:
In the post a talk proposal page, you may ask Talkplace to create a Jitsi meet link for you, and you can choose to make it visibile or invisibile to other persons.
The meeting needs no preparation or setting-up, it is avalilable at any time, and the link is sufficient to join it.
